Cawthron's aquaculture research is transforming the way New Zealand farms seafood.

We work closely with the aquaculture industry, applying a practical multidisciplinary approach to solve their problems.

We lead research in a number of key areas including selective breeding, hatchery production, shellfish and finfish physiology, algae production and health and new species development.

We're looking for a senior scientist to join our team in Nelson to lead research programmes relating to aquaculture and aquatic health.

This role will build research and consulting capability, lead business development activities to secure funding and support growth as well as managing biosecurity across the Aquaculture Group.

Suitable candidates will be PhD qualified, preferably with more than 10 years research or industry experience. A background in aquatic animal health is preferred.
