The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC (FFSBC) is seeking a Senior Fish Culture Technician to join our team at the Summerland Trout Hatchery. Under the general direction of the Assistant Hatchery Manager, the Senior Fish Culture Technician will be responsible for the implementation of technical activities required for the delivery of programs supported by a fish culture facility including egg collections, incubation and rearing and the transfer and liberation of cultured fish into lakes and streams throughout the Province.

Qualifications – Technical diploma specializing in fisheries resource management and 2 years directly related fish culture experience. Directly related fish culture experience includes capturing and spawning brood fish, incubating eggs, rearing juvenile fish, preventing/controlling fish disease, transporting and releasing fish into lakes or streams, collecting, summarizing and interpreting biological data and leading work activities of other staff. Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience may be considered. Lesser qualified applicants may be under-implemented.
